POOLE POTTERY CELESTE

Poole Pottery "Celeste" was one of several colour ranges manufactured using the Cameo glaze. Its production ran in parallel with the Twintone range for some years, and many of the shapes are identical. It can easily be distinguished from the Twintone range by the fact that it has a much glossier glaze, and also in the Cameo ranges, the inside of cups, jugs etc were white, as opposed to have a complimentary colour used for them. Celeste was not produced in such large quantities as some of its contemporaries and good condition items have now become quite scarce.
