A beautiful eared serving plate in the discontinued range of Carnation china produced by Royal Doulton. This plate measures approximately ten and a half inches from the outside of one eared handle to outside of the opposite eared handle. It would be suitable for serving bread and butter, cakes or sandwiches.
This plate has the mark on the back stamp that indicates that it was originally sold by Royal Doulton as a "Second". However, it is otherwise in very good condition without any obvious defect. We are offering this item at a significantly reduced price, as compared with first quality items.
Royal Doulton discontinued the production of Carnation many years ago. Most items in this pattern have become difficult to obtain, but this is particularaly so of specialist pieces such as cake stands, which were not produced in such large numbers as other items.
