Denby Pottery Romany
DENBY POTTERY ROMANY
Romany was first produced by Denby Pottery in the 1970's. It was produced in an "old gold" colouring which was surrounded by an irregular darker brown edging. It was produced in the same shapes as Gypsy and Troubador, its plain colouring contrasting with the more decorative colours of those patterns. Purportedly, the finish was invented almost by accident. The wrong proportions of coloured glaze were mixed for a trial piece of Denby Pottery. Denby were so pleased with the unexpected result that it became the basis for this attractive range.
Although very popular, the production of Romany was discontinued by Denby Pottery many years ago, so quality products have now become difficult to obtain. Make sure that you purchase your requirements from us while we still have good condition items available.
